“Tiffany embodies the forward-thinking leadership and commitment to equity that defines Mercy Housing California,” said Ellen Jamason, Chair of the Board of Directors for Mercy Housing California.  “Her vision, combined with her unparalleled expertise, will drive our mission to create thriving, inclusive communities across the state.”

Innovative Leadership and Dedication to Inclusive Affordable Housing

Bohee brings over two decades of transformative impact in both the public and private sectors.  Her career includes pivotal roles at Lendlease and the San Francisco Office of Community Investment and Infrastructure (OCII), where her innovative approach reshaped urban landscapes while delivering on the promise of affordable housing and sustainable development.  At Lendlease, Bohee championed ambitious mixed-use, mixed-income developments, setting a benchmark for the triple-bottom-line approach, balancing environmental sustainability, community well-being, and economic vitality.

During her tenure as OCII Executive Director, Bohee led the revival of iconic districts such as Mission Bay, Transbay, and Hunters Point Shipyard/Candlestick Point, contributing thousands of affordable homes and driving economic revitalization in underinvested communities.

“Tiffany’s influence extends into policy advocacy, where she notably helped secure $1 billion in financing authority for OCII’s housing and community projects despite statewide redevelopment dissolutions,” added Jamason.  “Her leadership and track record have earned her high praise, including designations such as ‘Most Influential Women in Business’ and ‘Top 40 Under 40’ from the San Francisco Business Times.”

“Joining Mercy Housing California represents a profound opportunity to advance affordable housing in ways that transform lives and strengthen communities,” said Tiffany Bohee. “I’m excited to collaborate with MHC’s exceptional team to tackle California’s housing crisis with bold innovative solutions.”

A Passion for Mercy Housing’s Mission and Excitement for What’s Ahead

Interim President Lilli Lew-Hailer will continue to lead through the transition, ensuring a seamless handoff. Mercy Housing extends its gratitude to Lilli and the senior leadership team for their guidance during this transition period. Earlier this year, former long-time President Doug Shoemaker made the personal decision to step down, and we remain thankful for his meaningful contributions. Under Shoemaker’s leadership, MHC flourished as one of the premier affordable housing developers in California, with a pipeline with more than 4,000 affordable homes in development from Los Angeles to the Bay area and the Sacramento Valley.

Please join us in welcoming Tiffany Bohee to Mercy Housing California. Her expertise, passion for our mission, and leadership will undoubtedly propel MHC into a bright future.
