The Aromor Apartments provide affordable homes to low- and moderate-income individuals who have been or are at risk of becoming homeless or chronically homeless. The Aromor was originally built in 1927 as an extended-stay hotel for legislators from all over the state who came to work at the nearby state Capitol. Mercy Housing rehabilitated the property in 2009, and we are excited to celebrate the successes achieved over the last 10 years.
What is art therapy? Mercy Housing uses art therapy to help victims of trauma cope and heal. It’s a form of psychotherapy where art materials help people explore feelings that are difficult to express verbally.
