Apr 28Mercy Loan Fund Encourages All to Sign CDFI Fund Appropriations Bill Petition
With Congress crafting appropriations bills, now is the time to urge them to support funding for the Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund.
Please join Mercy Loan Fund in showing your support for CDFIs by signing this letter. The letter closes on April 30th, 2015.
For decades, conventional banks haven’t met the financial needs of economically distressed communities. In the face of this persistent and stubborn credit gap, the CDFI Fund was established within the U.S. Department of Treasury to promote community development in economically distressed urban and rural communities by investing in and growing CDFIs across the country.
“CDFIs need the country’s continued support,” said Julie Gould, President of Mercy Loan Fund. “CDFIs are essential to the development and revitalization of low-income communities nationwide.”
Mercy Loan Fund strongly supports the CDFI Coalition’s support letter to request Congress to appropriate $233.5 Million to the CDFI Fund. Join them by signing the petition.
