Mercy Housing California is deeply saddened to hear about the news of Mayor Ed Lee’s passing earlier this week. As a champion of affordable housing, he tackled head-on some of the greatest challenges facing the great city and county of San Francisco. Though we will miss Mayor Lee for his leadership, vision, and the passion and humility that marked his decades of public service, his legacy will live on in the affordable communities he helped make possible and in the lives of the people who call them home. He was a longtime friend and partner of Mercy Housing and we are honored to have worked alongside him in building a better, more affordable San Francisco for everyone. On behalf of everyone at Mercy Housing, we send our condolences to his wife, daughters, family, and his many colleagues—our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.
