Oct 27A Record-Breaking Power of Home
We could not be more grateful for our community of Mercy Housing Mountain Plains supporters who joined us at The Ritz-Carlton in Denver on September 21st for the Power of Home. Together, we raised nearly $400,000, making it our most successful Power of Home to date! All funds will go directly to supporting the essential Resident Services programs offered at our communities across the seven-state region.
The evening kicked off with a blessing and opening performance by The Denver Singers & Native American Dancers and we were fortunate enough to have back last year’s two incredible emcees, Al Jackson and Tory Schulman, from the nationally syndicated daytime talk show, “Daily Blast Live.” We were treated to a lively auction and paddle raise, heard from our partners at Huntington Bank and KeyBank, and announced our 2023 award recipients.
We also had the opportunity to hear from special guest Jenalee, a future resident at The Rose on Colfax in Denver, a new family community with 82 units of affordable housing. Jenalee talked about her experience finding her new home with Mercy Housing, being a single mom with cystic fibrosis, and what she plans for her future now that she has finished her education. She is excited to have a home to call her own and a place where she and her children can thrive.
But the highlight of the evening came after all the prizes had been auctioned off and all of the awards presented. Tory came back to the podium with an update about Jenalee, who had just left to put her girls to bed. As Tory walked the family out, Jenalee tearfully shared that one of the guests had just offered her a job in the field she had just completed her education in. A true testament to how the Mercy Housing community comes together to support our own.
We truly could not do what we do without the support from all of you! On behalf of all of us at Mercy Housing and residents like Jenalee, thank you!
Watch the video we shared at Power of Home, and hear from Jenalee, in her own words.
Thanks again to our Power of Home Platinum Sponsors. Your ongoing and generous support played a key role in the success of our event.
