Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating the grand opening of Thrive Sweet Auburn! Located in Atlanta’s historic Old Fourth Ward, Thrive Sweet Auburn is a mixed-use affordable housing community is a collaboration between MHSE and Project Community Connections, Inc. (PCCI), a nonprofit working to end homelessness in Atlanta, and is now home to individuals and families exiting homelessness, as well as veterans.
Welcomed by Mercy Housing President and CEO, Ismael Guerrero, MHSE President James Alexander, and PCCI’s co-CEOs, Jimiyu Evans and Margaret Schelke, guests were also treated to a tour of the new community.
We were honored to be joined by PCCI and MHSE board members, project funders, and other local leaders including representatives from HUD, the Atlanta Mayor’s Office, Georgia Department of Community Affairs, and representatives from Senators Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff’s offices.
Named the Best in Atlanta Residential Real Estate Deal by Atlanta Business Journal, Thrive Sweet Auburn includes 117 affordable apartment homes with the ground floor serving as PCCI’s headquarters. Residents will also have access to a medical clinic, services for job seekers, a coffee shop, and more.
